As nice as those awards and top achievement titles are that are listed at the top, it wasn't enough to keep me at the candle business. As a very small company, when times got tough, the leaders at the top who built the company are the ones who paid the price. And, so I moved on.

Things change, and businesses change and in the spring of 2010, I was facing a major challenge. I was the top income earner in a company for the past 6 years, but things were changing. My pay was being cut by over 75%. Ouch! The field leadership of the company, myself and others who built the foundation of the company were being pushed aside and having their checks cut drastically.

I had to ask myself, is this where I want to spend my time and invest my energy and put my name behind?

Red flags were coming up and I could no longer choose to ignore them. Together with my family, we made the decision to diversify our business plans and begin building a new venture.
